Mount Daleum is the first of eight scenic spots in Gijang. In the town chronical records, the mountain is recorded as Cwibok-san. Baekyesan. At the summit there is a huge rock which looks like an overlooking hawk and at the root of the mountain is Mount Wonjeok (currently Mount Cheonseong). In the town chronical records, it is said that Mount Wonjeok stretches to the east, covering Mount Baekun, and Mount Baekun stretches back to the east to the east sea, and meets with Daleum. There is a legend that "A thousand saints could come out of here and avoid the devastation of war", and the place to which the energy of Mount Wonjeok passes into is Mount Daleum. The people of Gijang believe that the first place to be reached by the sunlight of dawn rising from the East Sea on the Korean peninsula is the summit of Mount Daleum. The name of the main peak is called Cwibong or Suribong, and its peaks in the northeast are called Oknyeobong or Guseulagibong. Of the two peaks, the one on Cwibong from which the headwaters flow is called Cwijeong-cheon and the valley from which the waters originate from Oknyeobong is called Okjeong-cheon. Especially in the springtime when azalea blooms, Sangchun wonder is beautiful. The temple beneath Cwibong is called Cwibong Temple, and the one beneath Oknyeobong called Okjeong Temple.
