Dareumsan is the noted towering mountain in the middle of Gijang-gun and the first scenic site on the list of Gijang's eight attractions. The origin of Dareumsan is Wonjeoksan (now Cheonseongsan) and has gigantic rocks on perch on the summit, looking down like an eagle.

    SPOTBulgwangsan, Jangan-eup, Gijang-gun
Bulgwangsan is dense and deciduous forest enough to create tree-arched hiking trails with cool shade. Thus, climbing the mountain is like taking a walk, and many evenly trampled sites beside the spacious valley have been used by many families to having fun over time.

Its altitude is only 388 meters, so hiking Ilgwang Mountain is not that strenuous. Walking 500 meters more soon leads to the top of Ilgwangsan after passing by the Ilgwangsam (mountain spring). The charming nature park named Thema Imdo lies in the middle of the forest where family members, couples or individuals can stroll along while humming softly to themselves.
  • Cheolmasan photo

    SPOTCheolma-myeon, Gijang-gun
Cheolmasan is on the whole a steep mountain except for the first part of the hiking trail, so the hiking is hard compared with hiking on other mountains. Yet, the panorama on the top is unbelievably superb given its altitude (780.8 meters). It is one of most noteworthy mountains recommended to people who like mountains.
  • Baegunsan photo

    SPOTJeonggwan-myeon, Gijang-gun
At 520.0 meters, Baegunsan is the highest mountain in Gijang and named ???white cloud mountain because it is always capped with clouds. As a mature mountain with its splendor, the main peak exposes bedrocks. It is connected to Cheolmadan to the south and Yongcheonsan to the north. The oblique face of the east is the source of Jwagwangcheon.

Valley

Hongyeon is in the valley between Geomunsan and Ongnyeobong and right above it is Hongyeon Pokpo (Hongyeon falls), one of the 8 attractions of Chaseong. Even though it ordinarily has little water, it falls about 5 meters from the top and about 20 meters the middle.

Sea

    SPOTIlgwang-myeon, Gijang-gun
This beach is located in Ilgwang-myeon. The sand spreads out like a crescent from the place where Icheongang and Icheonpo meet together to the fishing area of Hakri. It has an in-one-glance view with a cozy look, different from other beaches of which both ends of the horizon are too big to be captured in one look.
  • Imnang Beach photo
    Imnang Beach
    SPOTJangan-eup, Gijang-gun
It is one of the two beaches in Gijang. The name Imnang comes from the combination of the second syllable of each two words by the locals: songlim (beautiful pine forests) and parang (silver-colored waves under the moonlight).
