As the forest is dense and broad-leaved, most of the climbing paths are shaded and as such enable a cool and pleasant hike up Mount Bulgwang. There are plenty of flat spots under trees besides a wide valley, so many families enjoy their time here. The valley is better than the mountain road on the left side of Mount Bulgwang. In the mirror-like clear, icy cold valley, all kinds of creatures like frogs, lobsters, and minnows swim around, seemingly in the reach of one’s grasp. Slightly out of the valley and up the mountain path, raspberries, cinnamon, acorns and other wild fruit and plants grow. Livestock such as rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, pheasants and roe deer also live here together. Popular with families as a daytrip spot and also as a hiking trail, it is the back mountain of three nearby temples (Jangan Temple, Baekryeon Temple and Cheokpanam). With azaleas in spring, cool valleys in summer, beautiful autumn leaves and winter trees in winter, the spot bustles with visitors on weekends and public holidays.
